I really love this time of year, for bike racing. How can these moments not inspire?

And I looked, and behold a Colnago: and his name that sat on him was Franco, and the soil and peloton followed with him. And power was given to them over the classics, to ride with bike, and with hunger, and with pave, and with the beasts of the earth.

  3. This rain needs to push on through, or I’ll wind up testing her Belgian heritage earlier than expected.

  5. Apparently Stage 6 of Tirreno-Adriatico was no joke. Several climbs with gradients over 27%, in sections. It brought out the human, in our pros!

Taylor Phinney gets huge points in my book for soldiering on, after all in his grupetto quit, to still finish outside the time cut.

Hit the North (credit: Andy Waterman)

Lately, I’ve really been digging riding my cx bike on trails. Nothing crazy technical, but still on singletrack. May not be the ideal tool for the job, but much like riding road bikes on gravel roads, it just feels good.
